On January 3rd, 2025, we brought this vision to life by hosting a mentorship program in Hula Hula, Karare Ward, Marsabit County. With a day filled with inspiring discussions, practical learning, and exciting sports activities, this initiative united young people from Rendille, Samburu, Borana, and other communities.
A Day of Inspiration and Impact
Our program aimed to address critical issues facing the youth while equipping them with tools to thrive. Here’s how we made it happen:
- Career Guidance: Inspiring participants with stories of perseverance and success while offering practical advice for future goals.
- Combating Substance Abuse: Hosting open discussions on the dangers of drug misuse and strategies for resistance.
- Preventing Gender-Based Violence: Promoting respect and advocacy for safer environments.
- Climate Change: Educating participants on sustainability and practical steps to protect the environment.
Sports: Promoting Unity and Inclusion
Sports brought joy and energy to the day. Boys and girls participated in soccer and other games, fostering teamwork, mutual respect, and gender equality.
Reflections and Gratitude
This mentorship program was more than a day of activities; it was a catalyst for change. A special thank you to the mentors and community leaders whose generosity and wisdom made this event possible.
